When signing up to Credit Savvy, you authorise us to act as your agent to enable us to make an “access seeker” request to Experian on your behalf. This request will be recorded on your file as a “file access”, rather than a “hard enquiry” which may appear when you apply for credit.
Entries under file access have no effect on your credit score. This section is for your record only to show you who has accessed your credit report. Accessing your credit report can mean several things such as exchange of information with credit providers you currently have a relationship with to check our records match theirs. Accessing your credit report does not necessarily mean an organisation is looking at the report in its entirety. It could simply be an exchange of data between us and them.
If you personally request your full credit file from Experian, the file accesses will be listed in a separate section that isn’t sent to credit providers. You are able to obtain your free credit report directly from Experian once every 3 months. Please see Experian’s website to order your credit report from them.
