Once you activate SavvyShield, a ban will be placed on your credit report to protect your credit score from the consequences of identity theft.
SavvyShield will alert you if there are any attempts to access your Experian credit report. Here is a guideline to follow if you receive a SavvyShield alert:
Review the alert
Determine if you have caused the alert. (Find out about who can apply for a credit check under your name)
If you have not triggered the SavvyShield alert, then contact the lender that has tried to access your report directly. They should be able to provide you with further information on why they requested a copy of your credit report
Remember that any enquiry made on your credit report by a lender during a ban will not be recorded on your report. So rest assured and continue living your savvy life!
