How do I extend a credit ban?

If you’re looking to extend your ban you can continue to do so via the Credit Savvy app, up to Wednesday 14 May 2025 after which the Credit Savvy website and app will closed. Find out more here.

To extend a ban before Wednesday 14 May 2025, please follow the instructions below:  

  1. Log in to your account via the Credit Savvy App.

  2. Click on the ‘request to Extend your Credit Report ban for 12 months’ located on the ‘Protect’ tab.

  3. Click on ‘Request Ban Extension’ and continue following the prompts by the App.

  4. Click on ‘Authorise & Continue’. You will be required to verify your account through either email or MFA.

  5. A request will be sent to extend the ban on your Credit Report. You’ll get an email confirming when this is complete.

Savvy Tips:

  • All credit file bans with Experian, Equifax and illion will remain active until they are due to expire.

  • You can refer to your email records from each credit reporting bureau to check the exact date your credit file ban is due to expire.
